Mary offers more loosely rendered portraits in addition to her traditional portraiture. Although they do not show the same amount of detail as her traditional portraits, they nevertheless transcend the ordinary, while capturing the essence of the subject being painted.

Paintings that capture a moment in time are a favorite with many customers and work particularly well with young children. Most often the paintings are created using candid photos from the family photo album, which then becomes a "spring board" for the painting, Mary interprets the photo, altering color and composition as needed to create a painting as artistically pleasing as possible.

Paintings are about half the cost of a Traditional Portrait, starting at $550 for an 8x10 or 9x12 image.

Adults and a variety of other subjects also work well in this style and will be priced on an individual basis.
