Art Instruction with Christine Raymond

Christine does not consider herself an art teacher but rather an artist who teaches.
As such, she enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of art with young people. In each of her classes Christine is passionate about teaching the Elements and Principles of Design which are the foundations of art, and there is a strong emphasis on drawing.
The following classes are available to students in various ages ranging 8 thru adult.

This class will focus on various mediums and genres throughout art. As we study time periods or mediums, we will learn about techniques and approaches by studying the masters of old as well as current-day masters. I will note where the masters are in history for your student to include on a timeline they might be keeping. The class will be a beautiful blend of history and hands-on art. It's not art history; it's art with a huge influence of art history! This class will include a trip to the National Gallery of Art in DC as well as a Plein Air outing when we study Monet and The Impressionists. My goal by the end of 4 years is for your student to be familiar with over 20 artists, and to have a working knowledge of art history and the mediums.
